Our car unfortunately was not in good spirits despite the gorgeous weather. He got sick, leaving David stranded a couple miles from home with both the girls on his way home from errands on Saturday evening. A neighbor friend ended up "towing" it back home with a rope behind his Honda Pilot.
That left us without a car for church. We could have taken the bus. But I decided I wanted to use my new roller blades. So, I strapped them on with my nice trousers and fresh makeup and set off pushing the jogging stroller with Hannah in it for the three-mile ride. Dave followed close behind on his bike with Cora in her bike seat. It felt great. Until the hills. I hadn't remembered there being much of any hills. I arrived to church sweaty and red-faced and a few minutes late. We had a barbecue after the service, and I don't know if it was the endorphins or the shiny face, but I've never had so many people comment on how energetic and happy I looked!
Cora enjoyed watching the raccoons who were very bold about asking us for some food.
The best thing about special family days is the chocolate gelato!
